The title of a book due for publication in early January, 2009. It is an impressionistic, anthropological interpretation of the phenomenology of public school education in New York City.
The performance and behavior of administrators and teachers are critically examined and are both perceived to be sub-standard, effete and moribund at best. The academic behavior of black students is evaluated in the context of anti-intellectualism and dysfunctional social arrangements.
